What is required to pick up a vehicle?

When picking up a vehicle, the renter must provide a valid MasterCard or Visa credit/debit card issued in their name, an ID card or passport, and a valid driver’s license. The bank card must have enough funds to cover the rental and the deposit amount. The deposit amount depends on the rental price, the type and category of the vehicle, and the selected insurance. The bank card may also be used to charge for any additional costs that may arise during the rental period.

Payment terms

For the deposit, only MasterCard and Visa credit/debit cards are accepted. The renter must be the owner of the credit/debit card, and the card must have their name and full card number with an expiration date. The card must be valid for at least 3 months after the end of the rental period.
American Express, Diners Club, prepaid or electronic cards (such as Visa Electron, Maestro, Revolut, Monese, Bankera, and similar) are not accepted for deposits.
The rental can be paid for with credit or debit cards, prepaid or electronic cards, or with cash.
Note that you may need to enter your PIN code when paying by card.

Driver’s License

The customer’s and all additional drivers’ driver’s licenses must be valid for at least one year.
Driver’s licenses that are not in English (such as Arabic, Japanese, Cyrillic, etc.) must be accompanied by an international driver’s permit.
When picking up the vehicle, please provide a valid ID card or passport along with a valid driver’s license.

The minimum age for renters and the required driving experience: 19 years / 1 year.
If the driver is younger than 25, an additional charge of 5€ per day will apply at the rental location.

General insurance conditions

CDW (Collision Damage Waiver)

Civil liability limitation insurance (CDW) limits the driver’s responsibility for damage to the vehicle. If the car’s body is damaged, the maximum amount you will pay for repair work covered by CDW is the excess amount (600.00€, 800.00€, 1000.00€, or 1200.00€, this amount is determined by the rented car class). This insurance is valid only if you comply with the terms of the rental agreement. It does not cover other parts of the vehicle (e.g., windows, tires, interior, or chassis) or charges (e.g., towing or off-road fees), or anything inside the vehicle (e.g., child seats, GPS devices, or personal items). This insurance is included in the daily rental price.

If the terms of the agreement are followed, the customer is only liable for the following amounts:

  • 600.00€ (MDMN, MDMZ, MDMR, MDMV, EDMR, EDMN, EDAV, EDAR, EDAH, EWMR, EWAR, CDMR, CDMN, CDAV, CDAR)
  • 800.00€ (CGMR, CFMR, CGAR, CGAV, CFAR, CFAV, CWMR, CWAR, IDMR, IDAR, IDAH, IWMR, IWAR, IWAH)
  • 1000.00€ (IFMR, IGAV, IGAH, IFAR, SDMR, SDAR, SFMR, SFAR, SWAR, SWMR, FFMR, FFAR, FFAV, FFAH, FFDH, FFDR)
  • 1200.00€ (SVMR, FVMR, FVAR, SVAR)

Damage to the vehicle will be charged based on the repair estimate from an official manufacturer’s representative. Each damage case is considered individually.

Theft Protection (TP)

Theft Protection (TP) limits the driver’s liability in the event of vehicle theft or damage caused by theft or attempted theft, up to the franchise amount as stipulated in the rental agreement terms. In case of theft, the renter must return the car keys and documents (if issued to the renter). If the renter does not return the keys or documents, they are fully liable for the total value of the vehicle. TP does not cover personal items:

  • 600.00€ (MDMN, MDMZ, MDMR, MDMV, EDMR, EDMN, EDAV, EDAR, EDAH, EWMR, EWAR, CDMR, CDMN, CDAV, CDAR)
  • 800.00€ (CGMR, CFMR, CGAR, CGAV, CFAR, CFAV, CWMR, CWAR, IDMR, IDAR, IDAH, IWMR, IWAR, IWAH)
  • 1000.00€ (IFMR, IGAV, IGAH, IFAR, SDMR, SDAR, SFMR, SFAR, SWAR, SWMR, FFMR, FFAR, FFAV, FFAH, FFDH, FFDR)
  • 1200.00€ (SVMR, FVMR, FVAR, SVAR)

Partial CDW

Partial collision damage waiver reduces the damage franchise to the following amounts:

  • 300.00€ (MDMN, MDMZ, MDMR, MDMV, EDMR, EDMN, EDAV, EDAR, EDAH, EWMR, EWAR, CDMR, CDMN, CDAV, CDAR)
  • 400.00€ (CGMR, CFMR, CGAR, CGAV, CFAR, CFAV, CWMR, CWAR, IDMR, IDAR, IDAH, IWMR, IWAR, IWAH)
  • 500.00€ (IFMR, IGAV, IGAH, IFAR, SDMR, SDAR, SFMR, SFAR, SWAR, SWMR, FFMR, FFAR, FFAV, FFAH, FFDH, FFDR)
  • 600.00€ (SVMR, FVMR, FVAR, SVAR)

Super CDW (SCDW)

SCDW is insurance that reduces the liability to zero for damage to the vehicle’s exterior, excluding windows and tires. It also does not cover roadside assistance services. SCDW insurance does not cover damage caused by vandalism, incorrect refueling, loss of keys, documents, license plates, etc. The deposit for SCDW is only 100 EUR.

Glass and Tire Insurance

Glass and tire insurance reduces the liability to zero for damage to glass or tires. This insurance is not included in any of the previously listed insurance packages.

Roadside Assistance

Roadside assistance is available 24/7 within the territory of Lithuania, but must be ordered in advance. In other cases, this service is provided, but the renter is responsible for the costs. Additionally, if the vehicle is damaged through no fault of the renter, a replacement vehicle is provided for the entire rental period. Toprent reserves the right to cancel the vehicle reservation due to a breakdown or accident if the event occurred due to the renter’s fault. If the vehicle breaks down due to the renter’s fault, the renter is responsible for the repair costs. Vehicles are only allowed to drive on designated roads. Off-road driving is strictly prohibited. All costs arising from improper vehicle use are covered by the renter.

In the event of a traffic incident, theft, breakdown, or similar situation, the client must:

  • Notify Toprent and the police of any incident involving the rental vehicle.
  • Ensure the safety of the vehicle until it is no longer in use.
  • Collect contact information from witnesses and participants.
  • Complete the required traffic accident declarations and protocols.
  • Provide Toprent with a detailed explanation of the incident.

If the renter fails to submit information about damage in writing or by email (explanation), traffic incident declarations, police extracts, and the required information, the client must compensate for the full damage amount caused to the rented vehicle and other victims. All purchased insurance services will be considered invalid due to the client’s failure to comply with the terms of the rental agreement and general conditions.
